Lisa Hodgdon is a graduate of Florida State University and Stetson University College of Law, cum laude. The cornerstone of her practice is representing management in labor and employment law matters. She also practices general commercial litigation on behalf of a wide variety of clients. She routinely handles matters involving Title VII, the Americans with Disabilities Act, the Age Discrimination in Employment Act, the Family Medical Leave Act, the Federal Civil Rights Act, whistleblower and retaliation claims, and state and local employment laws. She also has experience with employment related administrative matters including proceedings before the EEOC, the FCHR, and local employment agencies. She also counsels clients regarding day-to-day employment decisions including hiring, firing, personnel problems, wage and hour issues, discipline, investigations regarding allegations of sexual harassment and / or discriminatory issues, ADA, and more. She also develops, reviews and updates employment handbooks for clients and conducts training for employees and management regarding harassment and discrimination. While in law school Ms. Hodgdon won several honors and awards including Best Brief and Best Oralist in Research and Writing II, and served internships with the Guardian Ad Litem Program and with the State Attorney’s Office. She also served as a judicial intern with the Honorable Manuel Menendez, Jr. of the 13th Judicial Circuit, Tampa, and the Honorable Henry Lee Adams, United States District Court, Middle District of Florida, Tampa Division. Ms. Hodgdon actively supports the Junior League of Tampa, the Guardian Ad Litem program, the Holy Names Alumni Association, and is on the Leadership Board of Pals of the Child Abuse Council. She is a member of The Florida Bar and the American Bar Association.
Employment Litigation: Routinely handles matters involving Title VII, the Americans with Disabilities Act, the Age Discrimination in Employment Act, the Family Medical Leave Act, the Federal Civil Rights Act, whistleblower and retaliation claims, and state and local employment laws. Also has experience with employment related administrative matters including proceedings before the EEOC, the FCHR, and local employment agencies. Handle all aspects of employment litigation, including employment discrimination and sexual harassment, wrongful termination, retaliation, and whistleblower claims.
Employment Counseling and Compliance: Also routinely counsels clients regarding day-to-day employment decisions including hiring, firing, personnel problems, wage and hour issues, discipline, investigations regarding allegations of sexual harassment and / or discriminatory issues, ADA, and more. Also develops, reviews and updates employment handbooks for clients and conducts training for employees and management regarding harassment and discrimination.
Commercial Litigation: Representation of companies in the litigation of significant disputes involving contracts and commercial dealings.
Insurance Litigation: Experience in the areas of insurance coverage, bad faith, and extra-contractual claims. Also have represented insureds in claims arising out of commercial dealings, torts, product liability and premise liability.
Lisa Griffin Hodgdon actively supports the Junior League of Tampa, the Guardian Ad Litem program, the Holy Names Alumni Association, and has served on the Leadership Board of Pals of the Child Abuse Council in the past.
She is a member of The Florida Bar and the American Bar Association.
